****** Budget Proposals ***** VAT: e-registration of dealers through Facilitation Centres ** VAT: Late fee for default in submission of returns within due time reduced from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 1,000 for the first month of default and Rs. 500 to Rs. 250 for each subsequent month of default for all dealers with quarterly tax liability exceeding Rs. 10,000. For small dealers having quarterly tax liability upto Rs. 10,000, Late fee reduced the quantum of late fee from Rs. 500 to Rs. 300 for first month of default and from Rs. 200 to Rs. 100 for each subsequent month of default ** Initiation of the process of gradual abolition of checkposts from the next financial year 2010-11 ** Exemption of Value Added Tax on dried flowers and other parts of the plants from ** Exemption of tax on fuel made from solid waste procured from any local self government ** Reduction in the rate of tax on perforated metal net (jali) from 12.5 per cent to 4 per cent ** Reduction in the tax rate on casing of bearings from 12.5 per cent to 4 per cent ** Reduction in the rate of tax on flush door, block boards, particle boards, boards made from bagasse or other organic material goods from 12.5 per cent to 4 per cent ** Reduction in the rate of tax on embroidery machine from 12.5 per cent to 4 per cent ** Reduction in the tax rate on all spare parts of an electric fan from 12.5 per cent to 4 per cent ** Deletion in the provision of submission of Profession Tax Clearance Certificate ** Reduction in the Entertainment Tax in respect of exhibition of films made in Bengali, Nepali and Santhali languages from 10 per cent to 2 per cent ** Increase in the rate of sales tax on sale of Foreign Liquor to 37 per cent, with an option to pay tax at the rate of 23 per cent on maximum retail price ** Increase in the rate of tax on mobile phones with maximum retail price exceeding Rs. 3,000 from 4 per cent to 12.5 per cent ** Increase in the luxury tax rate to 10 per cent for all the hotels where actual daily charges of a room exceed Rs. 3,000 only
Governor has been pleased to decide that State Govt. employees will be entitled to ad-hoc bonus for 2009-10 @ of Rs.1000/- per head.....
